“I truly believe having Kelly as my doula made all the difference in the world. From a practical standpoint, it was wonderful having someone help my labor progress. From an emotional and mental standpoint it was wonderful having someone who had aided in many births being a calm presence during the unknown parts of labor. While my daughter’s birth didn’t go remotely how I had hoped, having a doula helped me navigate those changes and explain what the doctors wanted to do to me from an evidenced based perspective. Even though I had done plenty of research, it was easy to get caught up in the adrenaline and worry in the moment. Kelly was able to remind me of pros and cons to different procedures and help me avoid some of them.”
