I am more natural minded, but wanted to give birth in the hospital. I knew from the beginning that we needed someone on our side who had experience because he was our first born, so a Doula was the perfect fit for us. I read what felt like 100 bios, and when I read Lindsay Neal’s, I immediately felt comfortable. We met with her, and I liked her even more. She always answered my questions and had very helpful natural remedies for things that I was experiencing for my entire pregnancy. She also supported me in all my efforts to prepare, and gave me additional tips on things that I could do.
My goal was to deliver naturally and I made it through 36 hours without an epidural with my husband and her support and then I decided I didn’t think I could go much longer without it. She kept me calm while I got the epidural. She was with us the whole time and helped us advocate our desires in the hospital, which was beyond helpful. She made sure we got the birth that we wanted. After I had my son, I suffered a major hemorrhage, and my postpartum experience became something I was not prepared for. She was with us every step of the way.
I cannot express to you how grateful we are for her. I told my husband all the time that when we have our next baby, Lindsay will be our girl.
