Susan Breisch, Care for Mom’s founding doula, is committed to helping women achieve the birth experiences they want. Her training and experience have equipped her for teaching childbirth education, and for providing both labor and postpartum support to mothers and their families. Whether your ideal delivery is at home, at a birthing center, or at the hospital, Susan can be your advocate and assistant.
Susan has been supporting women before, during, and after birth since 1999. Her experience with her own five children and her bachelor’s degree in home economics laid the perfect foundation for Care for Mom. She received her postpartum doula certification from the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA) in 2003 and has since completed training as a labor doula as well. Susan has worked with dozens of families in the Upstate of South Carolina, supporting them through pregnancy, labor, and birth, and leaving them confident in their ability to care for their newborns.
Susan also is certified as a childbirth educator by Lamaze International. She teaches Birthing Confidently, a comprehensive course on pregnancy, labor, birth, and newborn care. As a part of her postpartum work, Susan also facilitates the monthly Upstate Postpartum Support Group.
