It’s been over a year now and still my biggest piece of advice for expecting mommas is to hire a doula!!
Kelly helped ease my fears! She knew my goals for birth and showed up to the hospital at o’dark thirty the morning after Christmas! She saw the look on my face after about the third contraction in the bed after the initial assessment and immediately asked, “Do you want to move to the shower?”
For the rest of labor she reminded me of breathing patterns, helped with getting me into different positions, assisted with counter pressure, showed my husband how to help with counter pressure and supported and cheered me on through the pushing stages! Even my husband keeps telling his friends how awesome it was to have a doula to guide and assist!
We found out after our little guy made his appearance that Kelly did it all with the onset of a sinus migraine! She is for sure a superhero, and we are forever grateful!!
