Are you a new mom looking for ways to sustain your supply of breastmilk? Some women have found that adding lactation cookies to their diet increases their milk supply. Try baking these protein-filled cookies to eat as a healthy snack. Follow the instruction below.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 C whole wheat flour

1 3/4 C oats

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

3/4 C almond butter or peanut butter

1/2 C butter, softened

1 C flax meal

3 T brewer’s yeast

1 T wheat germ

1 tsp cinnamon

1/3 C water

1/2 C sugar

1/2 C brown sugar

2 tsp vanilla

2 large eggs

Optional ingredients:

2 C chocolate chips

1 C chopped nuts

1 C Toffee/ Heath bits

Combine flour, soda, cinnamon and salt, flax meal, brewer’s yeast, and wheat germ in a bowl and set aside. Cream together butter, nut butter, vanilla, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and water and beat well. Stir in flour mixture and oats, the add whatever yummy additional ingredients you like.

Place balls of dough on greased baking sheets, press each ball slightly with a fork and bake at *350 for 12 minutes.

This recipe can also be baked in two well greased 9”x13” baking pans for 20-25. Enjoy!
